Sustainability
In 1967, Walter Peters exported the first shipment of biodynamic organic coffee to Europe, becoming a world pioneer in producing agrochemical-free coffee at Finca Irlanda, located in the Soconusco region, Tapachula, Chiapas. Since then, this coffee has met the strict standards established for its sustainable certification.

Height: 1,090 meters above sea level (average).

Precipitation: 4,500 mm per year.

Temperature: 22°C annually.

Area: 270 hectares of production and 50 hectares of ecological reserve.

Varieties: Multiple Arabica from Agroecological Polyculture.

Nature Reserve: 50 different species of trees, 200 birds, 800 plants, 87 spiders and 80 ants.
Certifications

Colectivo Oro Maya
Through the Peters IAP Foundation, promoted by the Peters Family itself, we seek to improve the social conditions of workers, their families and the coffee-growing communities both within and surrounding Finca Irlanda.
Currently, more than 32 families (made up of a total of 122 members) benefit from:
SEP education for children and adults.
Community kitchen and food.
Permanent housing.
Community infrastructure.
Free medical and dental services.
